Installing fail2ban
This one is a little too easy…
sudo apt-get install fail2ban -y
After installing the application, there are a couple settings that I would like to change, specifically the ban time and making sure that multiport banning is set (banaction = iptables-multiport). This way if an IP gets banned, they will be banned for a little bit longer and it will stop any connection on any port.
It looks like that is all setup now, I changed the ban time from 600 to 6000, so a little bit longer.
