We have a couple pretty obvious hints in the challenge description.
The first is “subtle” but it’s the word enigma.
The next is the settings. They gave us enigma machine settings, but if we didn’t know this, we could do some research and figure it out. For example, looking up UKW B yields the following
and looking up 3 rotor model plugboard gives the following
We now know we have an enigma machine and the settings, so we can just use an online tool to decode this. I used cryptii (https://cryptii.com/pipes/enigma-machine)
After entering our ciphertext and getting the settings configured, we get the plaintext.
It almost looks like gibberish if you don’t look close enough, but once we see the first word is message and not mesa, things make more sense.

And now we can see our flag
A lot of people seemed to struggle with this because they were copying the entire string after flag and not remembering the flag is only 32 characters, so you need to not include the zzz at the end and add the brackets.
